Mandatory provision 6.4.3.2 Setpoint Overlap Restriction
When heating and cooling to a zone is controlled by separate thermostatic controls shall heating setpoint exceed cooling setpoint.
In our C&S-project for a retail center we distributed heat and cool through the ventilation system. Due to high internal load from lighting we need a lot of cooling. In some small dressing rooms we have installed additional heaters in the ventilation system since we need a higher temperature in the dressing rooms.
In some operational situation we then can have cooling in the system and then provide additional heat to the dressing rooms. Thus, we do not prevent heating and cooling setpoint restriction.
As far as I understand it is not allowed to use Section 11 – Energy Budget Cost Saving Method?
Is it motivated to describe a small deviation (the project scopes 325 000 square feet and the dressing rooms are 1 500 square feet)
The other option is to design a new and separate ventilation system to the dressing rooms, unfortunately not very cost effective.
