Do Main Building Utility Meters have to automatically transmit monthly data to to the BMS system managing the the whole building energy data? In my area some utilities provide the meters but they do not have or provide access fto the electronic output. Can regular monthly usage data from the utility be manual input to the BMS system and qualify for this prerequisite?

This prerequisite only requires that there are whole building meters installed for each fuel source. The data does not have to be transmitted or be entered into the BMS. The sharing of the data would be through EPA's Portfolio Manager. You enter the data in your account and share it with USGBC.

Do we need to update the data at EPA's Portfolio Manager monthly? Or can I track the energy consumption monthly and yearly upload all the data at Portfolio Manager?
