Our client is willing to install made to measure furniture that will be composed of elements from 2 pieces of furniture that meet the credit requirements. Is a specific test for the final product required or can we submit the documentation we have for the 2 piece of furniture already compliant?

Hi Charline,
Curious to hear what others think, but I don't see any issue with this approach since the Furniture TVOC testing verifies any emissions resulting from raw material processing (engineered woods, foams, fabrics etc) along with the fabrication of the finished furniture item (adhesives, finish coatings, etc). Is the combination of products occurring in the factory or in the field during installation? Assuming they will be mechanically combined (brackets/screws) there would be no added VOC materials involved during installation. Any additional adhesives/sealants used in the installation could be documented as field applied (wet) products, similar to how custom millwork documentation is approached.
