Are preservative-treated and fire-treated wood products exempt from this credit since the treatment is done off-site? I assumed this was the case until I saw the "Wood" category under "Substrate Specific Applications" in table pertaining to IEQc4.1 (p. 471 in the guide).

Only products applied on site qualify for this credit, however all products included under EQc4.4 (no added urea formaldehyde).

Does anyone know about a product that would treat and preserve wood with low toxicity and low VOC content?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Nadia,BuildingGreen, creator and host of this website, also offers a directory of green products called GreenSpec. That directory lists TimberSil, Accoya, and several other pre-treated wood products that meet your criteria. Products that are applied as coatings/treatments on site would be covered under EQ credit 4.2, and there are a few such products listed here on LEEDuser from that GreenSpec list. As a LEEDuser member you have access to that list.
