We are having trouble assessing the efficiency and emissions for a school bus and maintenance fleet. From all we could find, the standards (ZEV and ACEEE guide) do not address buses with medium duty diesel engines and full sized maintenance vans and trucks--both types of vehicles necessary to transport large amounts of students and maintenance tools/supplies. Any ideas on determining the fuel efficiency and emissions for vehicles of this caliber?

Mary, I don't have experience with this and I wonder if you learned more since you posted. My reading of the credit language indicates that LEED emphasizes "natural gas, propane or biodiesel" vehicles—can you look at using engines that run on those fuels?
