We have had multiple customers ask if our micro-farms (small urban indoor farms) can help with earning points towards Leed certifications. www.babylonmicrofarms.com The farm footprint is 66" x 34" but the grow area is 5 times ( that because we grow leafy greens, herbs, microgreens and edible flowers on 5 levels. The farms are typically placed in lobbies, dining rooms, etc.

Actually, there is a pilot credit for local food production (SSpc82, https://www.usgbc.org/credits/new-construction-core-and-shell-schools-new-construction-retail-new-construction?return=/credits/New%20Construction/v4.1). However, your micro-farms areas may not sufficient to comply with the requirement. Your micro-farms areas is 66" x 34" x 5 levels = 11,220 square inch = 77.92 square feet. For BD+C projects, the local food production areas at least 5% of the site’s vegetated area (excluding preserved or restored habitat area) but no less than 250 square feet.
