NC-2009 EAp2:Minimum Energy Performance

Lighting,people, and equipment diversity.

I am modelling a large multi use building where the peak occupancy never rises above ~70%. Different areas of the building are used on different days but never all at once. The average daily occupancy is ~50% during operating hours. Using HAP for the energy model, I have set the people, lighting, and equipment schedules to an accurate level of diversity. For example I am using the building area method for lighting, but my peak lighting kW is much lower than the building area x lighting density. Will the reviewer have a problem with this? I'm not sure if I should be modelling the lighting at full power even though at any given time many spaces will be empty with the lights off in real life. The same goes for equipment/people.

If you are doing something that may appear to be anomalous to the reviewer it is always a good idea to submit a brief narrative explaining what you have done. Specifically that is something that may be pointed out but if you explain it you should not get a comment on it.
