Hi, my project abuts a parking lot that is basically an expanded shoulder with spaces, directly off of a roadway. Could I use the middle of the roadway as my lighting boundary, instead of the 5' afforded to parking lots? It seems the intention of the credit is to reduce light pollution where it would bother people, and there is in effect an expanded buffer zone due to the parking spaces by the side of the roadway. There is no curb or physical barrier between the parking lot and the roadway. In addition, the parking spaces have been excluded from our LEED boundary because they are existing prior to the project and are required to remain by the university nearby.
Thanks!
