Hi Brenda - getting to the level of light consistent with the building corridor can definitely be done using natural light. That would also count towards #7 on the list of stair components. The only issue would be making sure there is lighting consistent with the corridor for nighttime use if the building is in use at night.

The credit language mentions the use of "architectural light fixtures" that provide the level of light consistent with or better than the corridor- is the aesthetic of the light fixture a concern or achieve a welcoming, pleasantly lit space?
