Homes-v4 WEc1:Total water use

LEEDv4 Homes and Multifamily Workbook, Water Reduction Calculato

Hello! I am having some trouble to complete de Water Reduction Calculator. The Project is a whole building, being each floor a different dwelling unit. They are luxury homes, so they are pretty big. In the calculator you can only introduce 4 fixtures for each category. In this Project, we have more tan 4 different fixtures for each category. That is one of the issues. The other one is that we are only allowed to fill one row for each dwelling unit, that again, only let you introduce 4 fixtures. For example, if each unit has 6 differents showers, with different flow rate, which one is the right way to reflect the real water consumption? Thanks!

The LEEDv4 for Homes Workbook should allow you to add multiple rows beyond 4 for each fixture type, I'm not aware of the workbook limiting you. If you add in each of the different showers and enter in the specific flow rate, the calculator will summarize the fixtures in the "Summary" table under "Calculated". Is it possible to minimize the different types of fixtures you are using? And just simplify the data you need to enter? If you aren't able to reduce the types of fixtures you are using, and your workbook is not allowing you to add additional rows, you may want to submit a formal inquiry to homestechnical@gbci.org as your workbook may need to be updated.

Raquel, The calculator works by utilizing the average flow rate within each fixture category. So, if the homes have more fixtures than the 4 allotted spaces, they need to calculate the overall average of all of the fixtures within that category and enter 1 fixture as the average flow rate. Do not add more units to account for the additional fixtures because that will increase the number of occupants incorrectly. Carissa
