Hi,
I've been searching for LEED v4 Canadian Construction Documents (01 35 21), but the update hasn't been performed yet. Is there a template available, or have people working on LEED v4 produced their own version?
Thanks!

I have not found one, but I have always written my own specs based on specific project targets - I have found the templates too vague.

Hi Nancy,
I am not aware of any LEEDv4 updates or if NRC are planning one soon.

Thank you for your comments. I guess it's time for me to start drafting!

Just in from the NRC w/r to the specs LEED update: "We’d like to publish it as part of the October 2017 publication. However, since this is a section that requires a lot of input from organizations and stakeholders outside of NRC, it is possible that it could take more time."

Hi Nancy,
I suspect that even if you waited, you'd end up writing your own specs anyway. The industry is still on the steep part of the learning curve. The biggest change we see is with material specs. It's one thing for the consultant and spec writer to know what EPDs, HPDs, and CSRs are (exactly - if you need to ask.......) it will be another to get Contractors and sub-contractors to know and provide the right information. One risk is that contractors will pad their price to cover the uncertainty.
Finding products that meet your LEED v4 goals can still be a challenge, too, though it's getting better.
For our first v4 spec we opted to minimize the information that we would expect the contractor to learn and provide. We tracked information as products were purchased.

Thanks Keith! I agree that tracking is the best route for materials, at least for the first few v4 projects. How did you fare on the material credit scores?
