What are the roles and responsibilities (architect, contractor) for specifying new materials credits like this one?

Hi Judhajit,The roles are not prescribed by LEED, but can be worked out however it best fits each project's workflow and delineations of responsibility. From what I've seen so far, however, it seems that teams are approaching these much like they do the LEED 2009 materials credits: architects stipulate the requirements and include compliant products in the spec, and contractors provide the documentation that compliant products--either those specified by the architects or approved alternates--were actually purchased for the project.On a design-build or integrated project delivery project these tasks would be shared more seamlessly between the designers and contractors. Does that help?
