Hi all,
I was wondering if the changes from LEED 2009 to LEED v4 no longer require guidelines to contain "information on LEED for Commercial Interiors or explain how the core and shell building contributes to achieving these credits" - then why do the LEED v4 Tenant Guidelines still need to include information for tenants to help them when they are pursuing a selection of LEED v4 Interior Design and Construction prerequisites/credits? I don't understand the difference and what then should be included in v4 Tenant guidelines.
Any advice would be great, thank you!

Hi Mark,
The language in the LEED reference guide is confusing. Although the changes from LEEDv2009 states that information for LEED CI and how the Core and Shell building contributes to the certification is no longer required, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it should not be provided. I think they leave it up to the discretion of the Owner of the C&S building and what they want to include in these guidelines. For instance, if you take a look at the Further Explanation section in the online credit library, it talks about including credits that may be applicable to the tenant’s CI certification.
So I think it isn’t necessary to include it but if the project team wants to highlight their sustainable strategies through the LEED framework they can certainly do so. If not, they can just include suggestions for products and strategies that would encourage tenants to make informed sustainable choices.
