Hi all,
Under GIB Prerequisite: Indoor Water Use Reduction, as the concept plan might be limited on details on fixtures and fittings. Are we able to use letter of undertaking on maximum flow rate on fittings and fixtures as evidence on water use reduction?
Cheers

Michael, for projects pursuing a Letter of Support or Certified Plan, it is sufficient to submit a narrative statement of intended fixture strategies. For projects pursuing a Certified Built Project it is necessary to submit product cutsheets or manufacturer information and an indoor water use reduction calculator.

Eliot,
Wondering if you may also know if for a LEED ND Built project if there are any interpretations or wiggle room/allowance for non-WaterSense labeled fixtures? We have a LEED ND Built project, and over the course of time, the built projects spanned certifications. One in particular is certified under LEED v2009, which did not have the WS label requirement and thus the fixtures do not all bear a WS label. We meet the minimum 20% reduction regardless.

Kelsey, I'm not aware of any applicable interpretations, but it sounds like you can make a reasonable case for not having 100% WaterSense because of the time span involved and different v2009 requirements. If you're clearly demonstrating 20% savings for all buildings, then you're achieving the prerequisite's intent. To be on the safe side, you might submit the question to GBCI for pre-submission feedback.
