We are working on a project, renovation of an existing 3 story building in an urban area. The entire interior will be renovated and finished including 6,000 sf of office area, lowering of the basement slab, replacing HVAC system, modifying existing electrical and plumbing. Exterior modifications will be limited to roof and leak repairs. I'm not sure if this would be considered major renovation/ new construction or if we can use commercial interiors. Can you help me determine which rating system is most appropriate?

Hi, Catherine! Your project definitely sounds like a major renovation, and would qualify under NC. You may even be able to earn additional points under the MR credits for building preservation. The beginning of the LEED Reference Guide for Green Building Design and Construction, 2009 Edition, outlines what constitutes a major renovation. Hope this helps!
