Hi,
We have a LEED CI project where our scope only includes 2nd floor and floors 10th to 16th of a 39 story building. My main question is;
Does LEED require modeling the envelope of the whole building both for the baseline and proposed models while keeping values same based on 90.1 for the areas outside of the scope? Or regardless of the thermal impacts of not having 1st and in between floors and the roof, only modeling the scope floors?
Thank you

What you need to model depends on the building configuration. If the building just goes straight up it is pretty simple if not it gets a bit more involved. Assuming the usage of the floors above and below your floors have a similar usage you can treat the floor and ceiling as adabatic. So you don't necessarily have to model the whole building. If you don't have access you will need to get the CI Reference Guide as it contains some detailed explanations for how to model CI projects.
