LEED Matrix

we have some spaces that excluded from 8.1 according to matrix such as lobby, brake room.. but they are properly daylit (10-500fc) based on AGI calcs. will it be correct to add these areas to complied areas? Thank you

You can include a space in your calculations even though the space matrix indicates it does not have to be. You must be consistent with including it across all other credits and ensure that its square footage is included in all other calculations.

Please be careful with break rooms. There is a note [2] that states that this space must be considered as regularly occupied "if one or more individuals normally spend time (more than one hour per person per day on average)" etc.So it is likely that if anyone spends their lunch hour in there, you are required to include it. I don't necessarily agree that if you include the space into the IEQ 8.1 regularly occupied spaces, that it must be included in all other credits. I think that is what the Space Matrix is for. For example, if you include the break room in the IEQ 8.1 requirements for daylighting, I don't think that you are also required to provide individual controls for that space in creditS IEQ 6.1 and 6.2. (Row 113 of the Space Matrix.)

thank you. It will be occupied during the day and it is beneficial for our modeling to include those spaces in calculations for 8.1
