This option in the innovation catalog is noted as adapted from LEED v4 EAc Enhanced Cx, and I'm not clear if it would be counted as an additional above-2009-enhanced-cx strategy, or if it's somehow intended to be in lieu of 2009 Enhanced Cx. Has anyone used this option?
Additionally, LEED CI v4 has a credit for Advanced Energy Metering which appears to have popped in where M&V was deleted. Is there enough of a relationship that the v4 credit could be substituted for 2009 M&V? I know it's partial, but I wonder if it could be combined with the Monitoring Based Cx to provide the equivalent of M&V "best practice". Experiences?

Hi Margaret - This is not going to answer your questions fully but I wanted to share some parameters for ID credits and credit substitutions in LEED v4 - not my experience with using these credits you are asking about.
In regards to your first question, credits in the Innovation Catalog in the Credit Library are meant to fill one of the 5 IDc1 slots in LEED ID+C - not be used as substitutions for existing credits within the rating system.
For your second question be sure to check out this article - Use v4 Credits on Your v2009 Project - http://www.usgbc.org/articles/use-v4-credits-your-v2009-project - for help on determining which v4 credits can be substituted on LEED 2009 projects. Advanced Energy Metering is not on the LEED ID+C substitution list.
You might also check out the LEED v4 User Guide - http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-v4-user-guide- which provides differences between 2009 and v4. Good luck!

Hi -
I realized I posted the original article about using LEED v4 credits on LEED 2009 projects from January 2014 and not the revised one for November 2015 in my June post - https://www.usgbc.org/articles/new-leed-v4-credit-substitutions-2009-pro....
Also, please check out LI ID #10418 - https://www.usgbc.org/content/10418 - which discusses how LEED 2009 projects can substitute LEED v4 credits and use part of EAc5 in LEED 2009 for Measurement and Verification.
