We are working on documenting LEED Campus credits for a community college campus consisting of about 20 buildings. They recently (over the last 3 years or so) adjusted their roofing standard to be a "white" modified bitumen roof with an SRI of 87 and use that on all re-roofing projects moving forward. We know when each roof on campus is scheduled to be re-roofed, and since their new standard meets their SRI - does anyone know of any interpretation that allows us to account for future planned re-roofing projects? The cost of the "white" Mod-Bit Roof and the "dark" mod-bit roof are the same.

Hi Anastasia,
If the buildings you are referring to have registered websites and are identified part of your campus effort in LEED Online, it seems to me that you'd be able to document the standard as applicable to all of them. It would probably be best to provide documentation of your client's commitment to the product/standard specifically for your projects. I would try to get a signed letter on their letterhead to confirm it, and perhaps applicable spec sections and cut sheets.
I believe it's normal in campus projects, particularly large ones like yours, that the work on all associated buildings is not completed at the same time. If you want to be more certain, you could contact GBCI and ask if your approach is appropriate for your project.
