ESC Plan and Project LEED Boundary in Campus project
we are working on a campus LEED project that have four different contractors working on four different buildings that will be registered for LEED as individual projects under campus project
now some of the construction activities are outside the LEED project boundaries such as steel and wood workshops and large cranes and equipments, however each contractor will be following the ESC plan for the whole construction site which is bigger than the project LEED Boundary
my question here, will we be able to achieve this credit if some of the construction works are outside the LEED Project boundaries , knowing that all the ESC measures will be followed for the whole construction area ?

As long as your ESC plan is established per NPDES and is followed, you are good.

We have the same question. Michael, could you provide a bit more detail based on your knowledge and experience, as it is clear projects will be fine if they follow the requirements of the prerequisite. The question seems to be related to an issue that falls in a gray area and for this reason, some additional detail would be much appreciated!

Michael is right that as long as the plan is established and followed per the credit requirements, the prereq is earned. Here's my perspective as a former LEED reviewer: I'd be looking for consistency in the project boundary, and I wouldn't necessarily be familiar with the larger site, so a situation like this might raise a red flag about whether your LPB includes all the land that's required to be in it per the MPRs. A brief narrative stating that the LPB doesn't match the ESC boundary and why really goes a long way. I'd suggest marking up the LPB on your ESC plan as well, just to make the relationship between that and your site plan clear.
Mostly I'd say the issue here is less earning SSp1 - you'll be fine there - more making sure you're not calling the project boundary into question. And of course, if the larger campus is a registered LEED campus, the camous boundary will be defined and available to the reviewer.
