At least in the older LEED

At least in the older LEED Online, after you received request for clarifications for credits you can select to pursue credits that were not previously submitted. HOWEVER, you'll only get the one final review of those credits (no preliminary review with request for clarifications), so if you did not provide enough information in that submission / they have questions about your approach/documentation, you're likely going to be denied the credit. I'm not sure under LOL 2009 if you can "purse a credit" that's new at this stage or not. I do not know of any source for this information, but I believe it is correct (and have experienced it as such).

In a recent email exchange with GBCI it was confirmed that Michelle is correct. You may submit new credits but they will be either awarded or denied; there is no pending status at that point.
