NC-v4 MRc1:Building life-cycle impact reduction

LCA for a renovated building?

Can Option 4 LCA be selected for a project of an existing building which is being renovated and with substantial demolition works? Is it still allowed to use Option 4 if a bit more than 25% of the existing structure is reused?

Agata, if your building qualifies as a BD+C project, you can pursue this credit.

Also, the LEED v4.1 revisions to the WBLCA credit include a 4 point WBLCA pathway that serves as a "bridge" between the area takeoff based Option 3 and WBLCA Option 4 in v4.0.  This new "option 4 / path 4" allows teams to use WBLCA and be recognized for reuse / salvage strategies.
