Dear All,

we are evaluating the LEED certification potential of a new building in Portugal (using the rating system LEED BD+C: New Construction and Major Renovation), located in a site that is, currently, 100% agricultural use.

  1. can you please clarify if a land with agricultural use (mainly vineyards and olive trees) is considered previously disturbed (under SS Credit Site Development – Protect or Restore Habitat) ?
  2. if no, the site will have no previously disturbed zones. Therefore, restoration requirement does not apply. Can we award the credits only by protecting more than 40% of the greenfield area (that, in this case, match with site area) ?

Thanks in advance,
