NC-v4 LTc7:Reduced parking footprint

Kennel building type for Base Ratio Table

Hi there,

I am working in a certification of kennel (for different kind of animals) and I'm having problems to choose which building type shall I consider (no one from the table 1 seems to apply) and how shall I calculate the parking spaces. Is there any default value that shall be considered if our building type does not match any of the table?

Below you can find a more detailed description of the building. For instance, would it be acceptable to consider Office as the building type?

The building have 3 floors:

- Floor -1 (507 m2) : Have got techical area and a parking spaces

- Floor 0 (1455 m2) : Activities related with animals facilities (surgery, kennel, etc)

- Floor 1 ( 491 m2) : Offices, WC, meeting rooms, and different support rooms)

Best regards,

Hi Luis, since your project type is so unique and not covered under any of the standard/default usage types, I would contact GBCI directly and get their recommendation. You can email LEED coach and get a written response to include in your documentation when you submit for review. This will be helpful to the review team as well. My guess is you will use the office suggestions for the second floor, but work out some ratio to use for the first floor, given the space types.
