Jennifer Frey (personal introduction)

I am the Sustainability Program Manager for Sellen Construction in Seattle, WA where we build healthcare, education, office buildings, museums, historical renovations, and unique structures like sculpture parks and the “spheres” that have been in the news lately.  My role blends environmental regulatory compliance, sustainability in field operations and green building certifications.

I grew up bucking hay and building houses in Michigan.  I studied architecture, as anyone of the Brady Bunch era was apt to do.  I currently live with my wife north of Seattle, where we are scheming to remodel our tiny house. I am hoping to squeeze in cross laminated timber and other healthy materials.

My green-building interests are varied.  They include zero waste, healthy and low-carbon building materials, Prevention through Design, air quality (indoor and site), clean water (zero runoff), energy and water conservation in field operations, and reducing ghg emissions.

I volunteer with organizations focused on high-performance buildings, greening sea/air port operations, advising federal and state regulators, implementing realistic carbon policy statewide, to groups developing temporary housing after disasters.  Looking forward to collaborating with all of you!
