Hello Silvia,
It is highly recommended that LEED AP be active. Its mandatory that the involved LEED AP has active status inbetween anticipated project start date to the anticipated project end date, and listed as team memeber within LEED Online. If there is technical difficulties to renew the LEED AP certification, you can provide a narrative explaining your special circumstances.
