For those who haven't heard yet, we've reached a critical milestone with the Contractor Commitment. 51% of the SCL network voted to approve the language of the current draft. That's the mark we needed to hit, so we can move forward with planning the launch! Thank you to all those who have worked tirelessly over the last two years developing each category, debating what should fall in each tier, and making sure the parts come together in a cohesive whole.
Next steps are to develop the resources and templates needed to run this program, copy edit the current draft, and plan a release that will attract companies to sign on. At the Summit, an initial set of volunteers signed up to be a part of what we're calling the CC Launch Working Group. We'll no longer be meeting in the subgroups we had organized by category (waste, carbon, wellness etc.)--the CC Launch Working Group will be in charge of moving the whole CC toward a public release.
So, here's your open call to join the CC Launch Working Group! Even if you haven't been directly involved with the Contractor Commitment, this is a great chance to dive in and become familiar before it is released. It really has become a powerful example of what SCL members can do by working together. You can sign up in this google sheet.
We'll be having our first kick-off meeting on Aug 26th 3pm-4pm ET jointly with the steering committee to develop an action plan and schedule for the next couple of months.
