You won't want to miss this conversation with Tim Ryder, the staff person from Senator Schumer’s office who helped lead the development of the IRA. Tim will share about the sausage-making that led to the mess of incentives we’re coming to know and… love(?) And he's interested in our ideas on where the building industry’s biggest decarbonization opportunities and challenges lie, and what policies Congress should consider to address them.

YES! When Nadav says you won’t want to miss this, he means it! PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDAR! We had Tim speak at our office and he didn’t disappoint, it was very entertaining and left me feeling hopeful. Even though it had to be one of the most grueling pieces of legislature to work on and get passed, he is still excited and energized by the opportunities that await! I highly recommend becoming familiar with the IRA and a little bit of history around it prior and have some questions and thoughts ready – he is all ears. Check out his bio below: Tim joined U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer’s office in May 2019 and currently serves as a Legislative Assistant. Tim is spearheading the Leader’s work on artificial intelligence, while overseeing the disaster policy portfolio. He is also a member of the Schumer Climate Team, where he helped formulate, negotiate, and pass the Inflation Reduction Act, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and a number of other bills in the 117th Congress. Before joining Leader Schumer’s team, Tim worked briefly for Senator Bill Nelson of Florida. Prior to his time on the Hill, he worked for The Climate Reality Project – former Vice President Al Gore’s non-profit – on Gore’s famous slideshow featured in An Inconvenient Truth. Hi folks, I really enjoyed the meeting with Tim--and so glad that about 100 of us were able to make it. Honoring Tim's request for the details to be kept private (Chatham House Rule), we can't share too much. But I did put together a high-level summary for the Advocacy Working Group that anyone in the Networks can access. As you can see there, Tim had a request for some follow-up input. Maybe that will lead to a follow-up meeting? Nadav
