Innovative Projects Showcase

Hello Green Gurus,

Here is an exciting event we're planning for the end of the month!

Innovative Projects Showcase - “The Power of Collaboration”

A selection of your fellow sustainability leaders will showcase a few recent projects that exemplify integrative process and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Each presentation will include the perspectives of multiple professionals (e.g. architect, contractor, MEP engineer, consultant, community design leader) on how they achieved deeper levels of sustainability by working together.

True to BuildingGreen’s style, we’ll be building in audience participation throughout the session, and the presentations will be followed by an open discussion about the projects and the importance of collaboration throughout the design and construction process. We’ll also explore recent and upcoming opportunities to connect and engage across the five different Peer Networks.

Important: This is NOT a Peer Networks safe space event! You are all encouraged to bring a buddy (or several). Continuing the theme of collaboration across disciplines, we ask you to think particularly about individuals who might be a good fit for one of the networks other than your own. We’ve included an email template below for you to easily invite them to join you at this event. We also have a refresher on the membership requirements for each network. If you know someone who should be part of this unique collaborative space but isn’t, now’s your chance to show them what they’re missing!

Here is some language you can share with non-Peer Networks members as you invite them to this event. Of course we always encourage you to include a personal note as well!

Hello Green Gurus, Here’s one more reminder that the Innovative Projects Showcase: “The Power of Collaboration” is happening in less than a week! Monday, June 28 3-4:30pm EDT (12-1:30pm PDT)
Register here More than 100 people are already signed up, including many of you. If you aren’t - we hope you will consider attending. Even if you can’t make it, please consider inviting awesome people you know in other industries or at other firms. Who works on projects with you that you really respect and would benefit from this network of peers? With less than a week to go, this is the last opportunity to take advantage of this rare chance to give non-members a glimpse into the Peer Networks magic. As we pursue more and more collaboration between the networks through forum posts, events, and working groups, we’re especially looking to even out the ratios among the five networks to ensure that this collaboration is as productive as possible. With that in mind, please think particularly about inviting Contractors, MEP Engineers, and Sustainability Consultants you’ve worked with and been impressed by. We also welcome those who might fit our newest network (Sustainable Community Design Leaders) of planners, architects, landscape architects, and other professionals at design/consulting firms who are committed to leveraging design to promote equity and social sustainability in communities. Finally, as we all work to diversify these networks, we’re trying to think about who isn’t here and should be. We know that you are the best people to point us to fellow sustainability leaders whose voices should be heard here. If someone comes to mind, share the invite below with them! You’re also free to share it via posts, email lists, etc. that reach those who would benefit from connecting with these networks. Thank you for helping us boost the collaborative power and impact of this group!
