Has USGBC/GBCI ever published any studies of denied credits?
Typical total number for a project? Frequency for specific individual credits?
I know there are data on frequency of credits that are achieved, but I am interested in those that are attempted but denied. I realize there are numerous different reasons for a credit to be denied. I am interested in bigger picture questions like … Does the number of denied credits go down the longer a particular LEED system is in place? (i.e. profession gains experience in compliance, documentation) Correlation between number of denied credits and prior experience of design firms? (i.e. experienced firms do not spend time pursuing credits that will ultimately be denied).
This is not in reference to any particular project, just a general question.

No, such a study has not been released. There have been guides released pointing out common errors in documenting certain credits. Off the cuff I would suggest that the most commonly failed credits are also the ones most commonly attempted. For example, EAc1 is commonly earned, but there are often issue that need to be clarified, and not all the points might be earned in a given case.
