Industry Average for EPD

Hello all,

I am using LEED v4 with Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) things. 

Option 2. MULTI-ATTRIBUTE OPTIMIZATION (1 point) mentions that third-party certified products that demonstrate impact reduction below industry average in at least three of the categories are valued at 100% of their cost for credit achievement calculations.

Where could I find the data or information of this "industry average"?

Hi--The answer to your question is provided in "LEEDuser's Guidance" about this credit, so I encourage you to check that out. In a nutshell, industry average values can come from an industry-average EPD for the same product category. You can also benchmark against an older EPD for the same product line.  But it's also worth noting that Option 2 of this credit has an extremely challenging threshold, so I consider it basically unachievable for most projects. I've heard that they are working on revising it for the forthcoming LEED 4.1 release.
