Indoor water use Reduction Calculator bug

There is a bug in the Indoor water use Reduction Calculator when there is no urinals, the male water closet uses per day are set to 4 instead of 3 uses per day. How can we solve this?

Hi Oscar, I don't seem to be having the same bug issue with the calculator when I try to show that urinals are not utilized in the calculations. I would make sure to use the latest calculator provided by the USGBC, found here http://www.usgbc.org/resources/indoor-water-use-calculator. If that still doesn't fix the issue, you can always adjust the default uses per day for each fixture type in the calculator. At the bottom of the instructions tab, you can uncheck the "default uses per day" and then revise the numbers in the chart above. It sounds like in your case you would only have to adjust the male toilet uses to three uses per day. That should then translate over to your calculations and get rid of the incorrect uses per day. Let me know if this helps solve your problem. Feel free to send me the calculator you are currently using so I can see if there are any other issues.

I have tried with this version and the bug still appears. If you put 0% percent of males expected to use urinals , uses per day for male toilets are set to 4 in the calculator instead of 3 uses per day.

Ok, I think I see the issue now. It appears that the calculator does not correctly account for urinal usage according to the reference guide. This seems to be buried in the Excel formula that is set up in the calculator, which you cannot edit. Assuming the gender mix is default, the calculator should always show three uses each for male and female, regardless if urinals are used or not. You can always try to trick out the default uses per day to force the calculator to show three uses per day for male, but that's not really a good solution. I'll send this question to the USGBC to see if they have a fix.
