ILFI Unconference

We are T-minus two days from the ILFI unconference and I am looking forward to seeing a bunch of you there.  I have a vague memory about there being a meet up scheduled - can somebody remind me of where/when.

Also, can folks that are speaking post a reply about when their session is and what the topic is please.

Thanks in advance - see many of you in a couple of days.

About sessions--I'll be facilitating a conversation about products, databases, and transparency at the Healthy Materials Summit on Wednesday afternoon. Please sign up for that Summit and join us if you're interested--there is a lot to talk about. For those who were at the AIA-sponsored workshop on this topic at Greenbuild, this will be a chance to pick on the interesting progress we made there.  In particular, we'll be focusing on responses to the recent Letter from Living Product 50 manufacturers to the design community, that's a response to original letters from architecture firms soliciting (demanding?) transparency from manufacturers. I've attached it here. In a nutshell, they're saying "We've invested in transparency and in making better products, but we need you to show our companies the return on investment from that work, so that we can keep doing it."

Hi Everyone! Looking forward to seeing you all this week in Portland. I will be presenting on Thursday at 2 pm on our Border Crossing Project in Laredo Texas, and the relationships built in the city. Check out the abstract here: https://2018.livingfutureunconference.org/event/stories-from-the-border-gateway-to-healing-and-restoring-the-crossing/  I know it's at the same time as some other really great presentations, but would love to have some familiar faces in the audience.

I'll be at ILFI the whole week and hope to catch some of these sessions.  Keep me posted on where the A+D teachers lounge (meet-up) is as it would be great to say "hello".  I'll be at the tail end of Kathleen O'Brien's Emerge Leadership Workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday will attend the Net Zero Workshop.

Hi All, I’ll be presenting two sessions. The first with my colleagues Kristen Dotson and Ron Rochon is about Miller Hull’s updated Sustainability Action Plan with regenerative design goals, 2030 Commitment and our office-wide elimination of Red List ingredients—its successes and failures and our efforts to make it all transparent to the industry: Thursday 2:00-3:30, Room B117-B119 The second is with Richard Piacentini from Phipps and Sonja Bochart and Robert Simmons from Shepley Bulfinch. We’re talking about a new outlook on health, wellness and nutrition in the built environment: Thursday 3:45-4:45, Room B110-B112. Looking forward to seeing many of you at our SDL meetup. Hi guys, Does anyone have any suggestions for someone with an affinity for building codes from a building department or city or state who I could begin to recruit to be on ASHRAE standard 90.1? the standard tries (and the ANSI consensus process requires) really hard to have a balanced committee between Users, Industry, and Designers. We are low in the User category. Any names or cities or states you can think of and forward on or make some introductions. And remember - Green Buildings are Built on a Foundation of Solid Codes! - Thanks! Hi Len, Betsy Isenstein used to be at Tufts and is now the Director of Energy and Sustainability for DCAMM, the Mass State Building group. I am not sure she is the right person for this, but she may have someone in her organization who is. elizabeth.isenstein@massmail.state.ma.us Best, Jean p.s. she’s an old friend, use my name if it helps.
