NC-2009 IEQc6.1:Controllability of Systems—Lighting

IECc6.1 Hotel Servery

Our LEED review for the breakfast servery offered in the hotel is that we do not comply with multi-occupant spaces for lighting controls. We offered occupancy sensor with "forced off" override. They are questioning how we comply with group needs and preferences. This is an area to get your cereal in a.m., how to comply? We feel dimmers might satisfy LEED but not sure we want public access to lighting control in public space?

I guess they want multiple levels of lighting. However, I fail to see a big benefit there... I can't imagine anyone actually changing the lighting to "suit their needs and preferences." You can see the waffle maker, lucky charms, and milk just fine with one lighting level.
