Warehouses-NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

How to model a warehouse without HVAC system ?

Hello everyone,

I have a project where it is a warehouse without an HVAC system for the storage area, only office space is conditioned (roughly about 10 % of GFA). The storage area is only ventilated with huge fans since there is not any need for air conditioning (min temp or RH requirement for storage).

The office space design can be modeled as it is, meanwhile the baseline follows Appendix G. How about energy modeling of the storage area baseline model, since no HVAC system how do I model them and show some savings achieved?

Does anyone have the same issue previously?

Thanks,

Azfar

If conditioning makes no sense in that case, demonstrate energy in other end uses, e.g. in lighting. For process energy you should demostrate possible savings through an exceptional calculation: since ASHRAE 90.1 doesn't deal with them, you should create your baseline for process energy (e.g. you consider technical standards for the considered kind of process energy) and explain that in narrative documentation. For the credit (not for the prerequisite) you can consider renewable energy in order to increse the achieved points.
