NC-v4 MRp2:Construction and demolition waste management planning

How many type of C & D waste to be recycled

Dear all,

Good Day,

While studying Materials and Resources - (LEED V4) Construction and Demolition Waste Management Planning, they mentioned in the prerequisites 5 types of materials to be diverted from landfill. But in the CWM credits for waste diversion, they mentioned 4 types of waste to be diverted from landfill (75% of total waste), 2 points.

Can you explain IF the goal is to make two points: How many type of recycling do we need to target?

Below are the options to attempt 2 points:   Path 2. Divert 75% and Four Material Streams (2 points) Divert at least 75% of the total construction and demolition material; diverted materials must include at least four material streams. OR Option 2. Reduction of Total Waste Material (2 points) Do not generate more than 2.5 pounds of construction waste per square foot (12.2 kilograms of waste per square meter) of the building's floor area.

Hi Osman, Yes, agree with Allen
To achieve 2 points in CMW credit you can choose either option 1 (Divert 75% and Four Material Streams) or option 2 (Reduction of Total Waste Material)
Regarding the required minimum number of material stream in CMW credit, at least 4 of 5 material listed in the prerequised must be divert to get at least 75%, so if you get 80% divert with 4 material streams then it is comply.  Best regard – Afogreen Build Team

To earn two points in the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Planning category of LEED V4, you need to divert at least 75% of total waste from landfill. While achieving this waste diversion goal, effective team building and collaboration among project stakeholders are essential for success. There is no specific requirement for targeting a certain number of recycling types; the key is achieving the 75% diversion rate.
