How does this apply for already constructed buildings and sites?

Hello all,

We are currently working on a project which will undergo a complete renovation and the project is aiming to reach the LEED Platinum level.

The project covers a whole building block which is already completely built. How does this particular criteria integrate the fact that the site is already built? it is thus not possible to respect the first criteria of leaving 40% of the site undisturbed?

Also to create either 15 or 25 % of the restored land, we would need to tear some part of the building down.

Does the vegetation include façade vegetation, roof or other type of vegetation?
