Hi Ralf, hotel guests shouldn't be surveyed for this credit (check out FAQ #1 above).

Just an FYI, FAQ #1 is wrong. Hotel guests MUST be included. Per the most recent space matrix (April 2015) hotel spaces are NOT excluded from IEQc2.1. In addition, we also received the following review comment, "As noted in the Implementation section of IEQc2.1 in the Reference Guide, residents must be included in the IEQc2.1 survey; this rationale applies to hotel guests."

Thanks for raising this point! Historically the understanding was that hotel guests are not regular building occupants and are more of a transient occupant group, at least in the context of this credit and the transportation survey. We've also had hotel projects that didn't survey guests and didn't get any technical advice or educational notes. This approach has carried over into EBOM v4 which makes surveying guests optional. The EBOM v4 Reference Guide says "Hotel guests do not need to be surveyed, though teams are encouraged to solicit feedback from hotel guests if possible." But if v2009 teams are getting flagged for not including guests then I think the safest approach is to just go ahead and survey them! We'll make some updates to the FAQ to address this.
