Hello, there is a 160,000 SF historic building that will be doing a gut-rehab and has a masonry (brick) exterior that can't be altered. We are concerned about EA PR 01 Minimum Energy Performance compliance. An energy model is being created that should show performance better than ASHRAE 2010 given the advanced HVAC systems, lighting and renewables. However, we are concerned about the EA PR 01 Commissioning requirements that list minimum values for exterior insulation and a requirement for a continuous air barrier (which can't be added to the exterior). I know there are exceptions in ASHRAE 2010 for historic buildings and insulation values, however, are there exceptions for compliance with insulation and air barriers for historic buildings with regards to LEED Commissioning and Energy Star thermal enclosure system rater checklist requirements for air barriers and insulation?
