I'm a beginner and not familiar with the certification process and actual documentation.
Where can I get samples or ideas on how to to begin making a simple LEED-ND assessment report including checklist, scorecard, utility demand KPIs, and recommendations for the following scope:
Assessing the intent of a Masterplan addressing Street patterns, Open connectivity to the surrounding communities, Resident support through provision of a mix of socio-economic factors, Energy efficiency, Water efficiency, and evaluation of utilities assets locations for the following scope
· Recommendation on the renewable energy systems (type of technology, capacity, and methods to integrate).
· Review of utility demand calculations and finalising KPIs as per International standards and best practices.
· Preparation of a checklist of sustainable design items that may be included in the design as per LEED for Neighbourhood Development Plan.

TJ, you should start with:
- v4 Reference Guide at http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-reference-guide-neighborhood-develop...
- v4 rating system checklist at http://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-v4-neighborhood-development-checklist
- Sample forms at http://www.usgbc.org/sampleforms?keys=leed+nd
- Local Government Guide at http://www.usgbc.org/resources/local-government-guide-leed-neighborhood-...
- Citizen's Guide to LEED ND at https://www.nrdc.org/sites/default/files/citizens_guide_LEED-ND.pdf

Thanks Eliot!
I'm not sure where to start. Would there be samples of a similar report being done maybe on another completed project? Are there resources available like that online?
Also what local government guide for LEED ND do I follow in the Middle East or UAE for example?
Can a LEED AP BD+C do a LEED ND preliminary report and give inputs to a master planner ?

TJ, to find completed ND projects you can search and review scorecards at www.gbig.org, and then contact project developers or search the Internet for documents related to a specific project. There is no single online source of certification submissions and reports. Regarding local government guidance for the Middle East, I'm unaware of anything published specifically for that region, but you might consider adaptation of measures in http://www.usgbc.org/resources/technical-guidance-manual-sustainable-nei.... And a BD+C AP is eligible to earn the ND Innovation credit for using an AP on the project team.

TJ, which credit are you asking this in connection with?

Hi Eliot,
I'm referring to Energy, Water, Renewable Energy, HVAC system design calculations, Renewable energy capacity calculations, evaluation of utiility asset locations.
This is not for certification. The idea is just to make a LEED ND assesment report to assess the intent of a Masterplan
and evaluate utility asset locations.
· Recommend renewable energy systems (type of technology, capacity, and methods to integrate).
· Review utility demand calculations and finalise KPIs as per International standards and best practices.
· Preparation of a checklist of sustainable design items that may be included in the design as per LEED for Neighbourhood Development Plan.
I can't seem to find much on gbi.org. Many projects don't seem to have data available.
It would be so much easier if there was sample documentation for the LEED ND projects . It's one thing passing the exam but another actually completing the documentation.
Thanks

Tresa, for submission documentation you'll have to contact specific projects to see if they're willing to release copies. There's also a modest body of technical literature on ND that may be helpful; see the last section of the bibliography on the Resources page at www.transformativetools.org. And for larger questions on renewables and building energy systems, there's a huge body of technical literature beyond USGBC publications.
