Hi Gurus!
This query just came from GSA via the Large Firm Roundtable. It seems that one way we can help is simply to route this to the best concrete and asphalt suppliers we know of, so they can respond.
Can you pass on some information to the large firms sustainability roundtable? GSA, and the White House, just announced new initiatives to reduce emissions from building materials. As part of this, GSA has released two requests for information (RFI) to gather information from concrete and asphalt manufacturers. We don't have contacts directly with the manufacturers, so we'd appreciate it if designers might pass this on to any contacts they may have. Thanks for any assistance you can provide!
Dear Colleague,
The U.S. General Services Administration, which provides workspace and related services for over 100 federal client agencies serving more than one million workers, is seeking your input on the availability of low-embodied-carbon concrete and sustainable asphalt for upcoming building and paving projects. They are surveying the market with the intent of developing revised sustainability specifications.
I encourage you to respond to one or both of their Requests for Information for concrete and asphalt by filling out the online concrete form or the online asphalt form by COB Tuesday, March 1. You are not required to answer all of the questions, but the more information they receive, the better their understanding of the market.
