Hi!
We are currently discussing a design solutions for the HVAC in a project that should fulfill LEED requirements.
The discussion is ongoing wether we should have a solution with or without heat recovery.
Not sure what the recuirements for LEED says but I beleive I have hear that heat recovery i mandatory. Is that correct?
Nevertheless we will strive for a HVAC system with heat recovery solutions. But if the LEED requires that, it will be a no brainer! :)

Josef

In ASHRAE 90.1-2016 heat/energy recovery is not included in the mandatory provisions. Section 6.5.6.1 requires exhaust air energy recovery in certain circumstances as a prescriptive measure. If your project is prescriptively required to have this energy recovery then it must be included in the baseline model.
