In this credit under option 1 the standard formula includes a vegetated roof. If our client does not wish to pursue this feature due to perceived maintenance, can we still achieve this credit with only non-roof and roof factors? In other words, is having a vegetated roof an absolute requirement? Has anyone else achieved this credit without the vegetatedness? Thank you all for help!

Vegetated roof is not required. Installing roofing materials that have an SRI equal to or greater than the values listed within the credit are also compliant.

You could also achieve the credit if you have sufficient light-colored hardscape, and a non-white, but still light-colored roof. We are very cautious about specifying the bright white roofs, because of reflected glare from the material.
