Hello
The project I am working on has a pre-existing central plant. 3 of the refrigerants for it are HCFC R123. Do those count as CFC-based refrigerants? And if they do, how do I work around the 2015 phase requirement? (Current date 9-27-2017)
All the best

Hi Chad,
HCFC's are not CFC based refrigerants. You should be ok for the prerequisite. HCFC 123 is also listed as "acceptable" on the EPA's Significant New Alternative Policy (SNAP) list.

Searching for confirmation that: R123 - classified as HCFC and R134 - classified as HFC - are acceptable. University DES converted from R-11 /12.
