Gym Memberships and shower access for C&S

The FTE Occupants on the project is 123, and therefore 1 shower should be required in my opinion. The project secured a complete gym membership for 1 full time employee on the Project. I received a Review comment on SSc4.2 for LEED- C&S noting "Please provide a narrative to confirm that all LEED-CS project FTE occupants will have full access to the shower facilities and that the building containing shower facilities is open at least during the same hours as the LEED-CS Project." I have no problem providing information on the time the gym is open, but am not clear on why all 123 FTE Occupants could be required through this Credit?

Hi Robyn, I think what the reviewer is trying to point out is that the intent of the credit is to provide sufficient showering facilities that ANY occupant could use if they bike to work. I'm not sure the showering facility has to be free though. On that point, I think the reference guide is silent and the credit requirement is only that the occupant have "access" to the shower facilities. You may be meeting the credit requirement "as is" assuming the gym is within 200 yards of your building. Hope this helps! Best regards, John
