Hello,
We are pursuing LEED EBOM v2009 for an office complex. The project was built at the same time and has two twin buildings, with independent HVAC systems. However they operate as one, sharing open areas, underground parking, owner, property manager, waste disposal spaces (there is only one waste disposal space for the complex), purchasing, services (such as maintenance, cleaning, gardening, etc.).
We had registered this project as a single project but now have doubts about whether this should be a single building or group certification.
If we finally do this as a group, do we need to register a master site, etc?
What do you think?
Thanks

If it is a group you will need to register another building - I am not sure whether it's possible to create a group after the first project has been registered; however I'm sure GBCI can help. It would be best not to leave this to next week.
In our experience, the deciding factor is generally whether it is possible to move from one building in an area which is not parking or a corridor. If the only connection is underground parking, it's a group. If the buildings are connected on an upper floor and it's possible to go up one building's elevator, walk through a tenant space, and come down the other building's elevator then it's a single building.
