My project is a Lab building with labs and offices. We used Rockwool Curtainrock 80 and Rockwool Roxul Safe and provided the Greenguard Gold certificate of compliance document the manufacture gave us. The reviewer is saying this will not work because of the following language that is on the certificate: "Building products and interior finishes are determined compliant in accordance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method V1.2-2017 using a Classroom Environment.
Product tested in accordance with UL 2821 test method to show compliance to emission limits on UL 2818. Section 7.1 and 7.2." The reviewer is saying this will only comply if it is going in "classrooms", is this normal? If the product qualifies for a Greenguard Gold Certification in a classroom wouldn't it make sense that it would be more than applicable for a lab / office environment? I am not sure how to move forward, has anyone had this issue? Thank you! Todd

Hi Todd, The current v4.1 guide reads, "products used in any setting other than schools and classrooms must be modeled to private office scenario. For schools projects, modeling to office and/or schools scenario is permitted. " Luckily there are not many materials only modeled under the Classroom scenario, but you've happened to discover a couple. See if you can salvage the category by switching to/from cost to surface area.
While it seems counterintuitive, the private office scenario is more stringent than the classroom scenario.
Thank you both for the information, this was helpful.
