We are designing a classroom building on a university campus that will house a geothermal energy substation in its basement. The geothermal will serve as a campus-wide resource, shared among other buildings. A question was raised on whether or not we would need to include the geothermal system equipment load in this room in the building's calculations. And if the load was excluded, then would we need to exclude this building's share of savings generated by the geothermal loop from our energy calculations? If it is within our boundary, and within our building enclosure, are we required to include it? Thanks.
