I would like to see some more options added to this credit to encourage walking on the project site such as tables and benches with solar powered charging stations, outdoor theaters, performance areas or gathering places, outdoor sculptures, interactive displays or nature paths, creating bird habitats etc.

To elaborate, interactive elements could also be options i.e. a community garden.

I completely agree with you that there should be more feature choices in this credit. Being required to do 8 of 9 really leaves you with very little options. Plus, as mentioned above, there are quite a few other landscape/gathering items that project teams could implement that might do a stronger job of promoting walking than some of the current features.
I would love to see the various features expanded to move to something like 'do 8 of the 12 options' with several of the new options focused on getting people on-site/to use the site (like gathering spaces, community gardens, etc. as mentioned above). This would also help projects be a little more proactive in design to meet the credit in thinking about the use of the site. The current requirements seem like they could almost be met by chance on a building without too much extra effort/attention being paid to this credit which then does not feel very innovative.
