Warehouses-NC-v4 EAp2:Minimum energy performance

Freight elevator schedule

Hello!

We have a warehouse project with small area of office. We just modeled elevator loads using the scheduel from ASHRAE 90.1-2010 User's Manual, which is only 3.5 hours per week. Then we received review comments said " the equivalent full load hours of the elevator and escalator loads (175 hours) appears consistent with office operation; however, the freight elevators in the warehouse portion are expected to be utilized much more frequently due to the nature of the facility. " So, should we use another schedule for the freight elevators? Do you know how much equivalent full load hours is appropriate for the freight elevators?

Yes you should use a more accurate schedule. Ask the building owner how often the elevators will be in use.
